station 3: thurayyā
the waystation of the pleiades
Hi everyone,
I’m really excited to come to you today to share my first essay on a lunar station! I’ve decided to start the journey with Thurayyā, the luckiest station, who is indicated by the Pleiades.
The glittering Pleiades are both benevolent and wily. As one of the most distinctive features of the night sky, they’ve been intimately connected to the development of calendars and timekeeping. The 7 Sisters together taught our ancestors to observe the passage of time and it just makes sense to me to do them the honor of situating myself with them at the beginning.
We start the conversation off with their correspondences and then move into my own experiences with the station via gnosis gathering sessions and magic. I close with a taste of star lore that I find relevant to my own understanding of their essential nature.
Today was chosen purposefully—it is this year’s full Moon in the 3rd lunar station. Today the Moon grows into her brightest form at the campsite of the 7 Sisters, the climax of her journey this month. These 28 essays represent the apex of the research and magic I have been performing these last several years and I pray to the Sisters for their support in making this a successful project.
